The Westin Cape Town — Bespoke Bar & Dining Area
Design collaboration, manufactured & installed by Cape Customs
Cape Customs had the incredible opportunity to collaborate on the design and manufacture of the exquisite bar and dining area at The Westin Cape Town. Crafted from a refined palette of solid Oak, Oak veneer, textured glass, solid brass, natural stone and architectural lighting — this is bespoke hospitality at its finest.
The Bespoke Bar
Truly breathtaking. Every element was carefully considered to meet the requirements of a first-class bar. The back bar features a bespoke Oak cupboard with textured glass panes, elegantly showcasing a curated selection of the finest spirits. Beautifully executed faceted stone creates a seamless and striking bar front, complemented by a bespoke brass foot rail that highlights the intricate brass detailing throughout. A suspended custom light box casts a warm, atmospheric glow, beautifully illuminating the space.
The Dining Area
Bespoke banquettes meticulously crafted from solid Oak and Oak veneer with decorative solid Oak detailing. Defined by beautiful curves and layered elements that create a warm, welcoming space in which to gather and dine. Integrated living planter troughs, textured glass, and solid Oak screens introduce natural character and visual interest, while carefully stitched leather seating provides exceptional comfort and sophistication. Thoughtfully designed balustrades crafted with textured glass and solid Oak surrounds with an Osmo finish define the dining spaces with warmth and sophistication. It’s all in the detail.
Completing the space — a shelving display with architectural LED lighting and mirrored backdrop for added sophistication, a Maître D’ station with beautiful curves and solid brass detailing, and custom waiter stations built for function without ever losing sight of detailing and continuity of curves. Our team remained dedicated to precision and craftsmanship throughout — creating world-class pieces that reflect Cape Customs’ commitment to always going beyond. It was a privilege to contribute to this remarkable project.
